Stream Bug Monitoring
We count on bugs to measure stream health. The bug page provides info about benthic macroinvertebrates including caddisflies, mayflies, stoneflies, and other aquatic creatures, and how these bugs are used to measure pollution levels, nutrients, and other factors of ecosystem health in King County streams.

King County Industrial Waste Program
Administers regulations affecting businesses that discharge wastewater into King County’s sewerage system. (206) 263-3000

King County Stormwater Pollution Control Manual
All businesses in King County need to comply with these practices (per KC Code 9.12 Water Pollution). King County Water Quality Compliance Program provides technical assistance and site audits, They also issue violation notices and enforcement actions. (206) 296-1900

King County Surface Water Design Manual (Water & Land Resources Division)
Contains the minimum stormwater controls required of new development in unincorporated King County. Associated software and support documents available for downloading at this site.

King County Wastewater Treatment Division
Designs, builds and operates watewater treatment plants. Enforces regulations to reduce hazardous and harmful waste and educates the public and businesses about ways to reduce water pollution. (206) 689-3511

A city department that provides solid waste services (garbage/recycling), water, street drains and sewers and engineering services.

US EPA Groundwater and Drinking Water Office
